Obstructed view…

men signatureI was driving Kyle to work this morning and as I approached a stop sign, about to make a right turn onto the main road, several cars passed, then this dump truck appeared. It was in the far right lane, moving kinda slow toward me, but I couldn’t tell if a car flanked it on the left. It got me to thinking, if I take the chance that there’s nothing to the left of it, shoot across to the far left, and be on my way, cool. But it’s possible there’s a small car hiding over there ready to smash my car to pieces.

You know I went, cause if it was hiding over there, it was moving too slow, so they weren’t catching me. But that’s not the point. The point is in life sometimes we face huge obstacles, stare down major challenges and such, but the small thing you never saw coming could be the thing that takes you out. It’s like you’re battling cancer, but the betrayal by someone you never suspected could take your will. Or you’re keeping your head above water, paying every bill to keep your home, and the ticket you forgot to pay suspends your license and your livelihood is compromised. Dumb stuff. Watch out for the dumb stuff. Take nothing for granted. That is all.
