New for you

I’ve been back in the lab, creating products that promote the Signature Moves brand. I had been thinking really hard about which marketing tools would best serve my brand when I realized the absolute, most effective way to get my products and my name into people’s faces is to get my products into people’s hands. Duh Floyd….

Celebrities drop campaigns, send free, elaborate packages to their celebrity friends with huge followings, and everybody’s jealous. Sold out in minutes. I’m no celebrity, but I’m kind of a big deal in some circles–okay maybe the one moderately-sized circle, but you get me.

So I got testers to try my custom creations, and I added some new pieces to the collection–cause who doesn’t like new stuff, especially when it’s free? A few good, supportive folks also made purchases right away when I posted on social media. Turns out not many people had been paying attention to me, because life. But when my items arrived at their homes in packages with their names on them, people tended to get excited. Then they wanted to order gifts for other people….

We added tumblers with fun logo colors for your iced drinks, and soup mugs. The message reads: “I Sparkle. Get over it.”😏 Who remembers these custom Signature Moves Mason jars with the lids and straws? You know they come filled with caramel sauce, right? Mm hmm (somebody who ordered dinner from me got theirs full of gravy😋).

Yes, you get the jar of caramel with the regular lid, along with the straw and lid with the hole in case you wanna switch it up and have a lemonade or some other cool beverage in your jar. I got you! It’s called Liquid Gold. Order it today.

You know I love my rustic touches, and some homemade caramel, and some glitter! Boom. Get yours! And if I ask for your address and promise to send you something, just go with it. Then do me a favor and tell somebody else about your Custom Creations from The Signature Marketplace, or buy gifts. If you REALLY wanna help me out, you can make a purchase or kindly leave a positive review on Google about a service or product I provided for you.

I have zero testimonials about my renovations/style projects, and a handful of reviews on my desserts. In today’s world, a business can live or die by its ratings. So help a sista live! Please, and thank you!

Season’s Eatings

Real Estate

Tis the season for getting a decent price on a home if you’re thinking about buying. The madness has died down and properties are sitting on the market longer in some areas. I’ve seen consistent drops week after week mostly because those sellers and agents thought the hype was still up, so they priced based on a seller’s market with lots of competition. Nope, after school starts, it calms down quite a bit.

I probably shouldn’t say, but in areas where schools aren’t exactly desirable, buyers who don’t need to consider them can shop freely based on style and size of home, without all the extra marketing noise. Just look at the property. What does it offer you? Can you see yourself planting roots there? Is the neighborhood transitioning, similar to areas you’ve seen gentrified in recent years? What kinds of grocery and shopping are available nearby? What do you like to see where you will live?

Check the crime stats, read their newspapers. Drive through at different times of day and night. Do your research on an area before you make an investment there. You cannot rely on your agent to guide you on this. No ethical agent can do that part for you. Fair housing laws and ethics rules prevent us from engaging in certain behaviors, so we can only advise you about the property and the comparables in the area.

Every year continuing education focuses more in depth on ethics violations and fair housing violations, with examples and accompanying penalties and fines. So don’t ask for horror stories or critiques on demographics. We gotta go by the numbers. Period. Thanks for understanding.

Small Business Corner

Lately it seems like my new full-time job is finding money for my business. Well, other than finding customers to pay for my products and services, I’ve been on the hunt for grant money. Yep, free money you don’t have to pay back. It has eluded me for years, but I’ve found it.

Listen, every news alert I get daily has an article about how the Small Business Administration is giving away money. The EIDL disaster funds are real! I’m shocked that not many have taken advantage of it. Shooooot, I have! Got my Targeted Advance and the Supplemental grants. You just need to be operating in one of the areas marked a “disadvantaged” or low-income. I forget how they put it exactly, but go find that. Just search for EIDL.

My other grant plug is Hello Alice. Go to helloalice.com and sign up. There are many grants out there for minorities and women in particular. I’ve applied for at least 4 grants in the past week. I ain’t even playing out here. It’s tough since COVID-19 shut the world down, but it’s coming back together and the help is there for serious business owners with their documents in order. If you haven’t started the business yet, do it. Order my Business Startup Guide and take the steps. I made it super easy to follow. Get your coins! Or tell a friend!

Meanwhile, watch this video on remembering why you even started whatever you’ve started…

Stay on the path…
