I don’t care what people say, I’m acknowledging my haters. Regularly. I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I always go against the grain asking why and offering new perspective on matters. I believe it’s my duty. Listen to my show. Read my blog. It’s what I do best.
Anyway, I decided my haters can’t harm me, but rather I inspire them. I’m their reason for so many things that keep them alive. So I’ve CHOSEN to consider this, being me, giving them something to be mad at or try and steal from me, part of the job of a visionary. In 2005 I wrote a poem called Denial; it was published in the collection It Is what It is–Epiphany. Long story short, dude was trying to hurt me, and it was working–until I realized the power I had. I wrote: “…you need me. You wanna be me. Cause you are darkness, and I am your light.”
See how that works? My haters have zero purpose or light without me, so if I have to carry them around on my back, let them bask in my light, be warmed by my joy, then so be it. I consider it part of my ministry.
