Come Monday Morning

It’s not even 9AM on Monday, and I’m already getting my butt kicked. Some of it is leftovers, and some is attributable to what I have to look forward to. But as I knock out challenges one at a time, I don’t have the luxury of looking at the big ugly picture. It’s like one of those elaborate videogames. Every challenge overcome gives me energy, credits I can use later, and the will to get to the end and defeat the monster waiting at the gate. Continue–Quit–Save?

The obvious choice might seem like Continue, but at times you have to just save your progress, put it down, and come back later. The most difficult puzzles and logic problems taught me that. Fresh eyes and a clear head sometimes do the trick. When you choose to continue, it should be because you have all the tools you need for that particular test. When my radio show didn’t work out as promised, I figured out how to save my work, upload it to my own website, then quit–temporarily. All my shows are now on the Signature Moves tab on versatili-t.com; don’t play with me.

When I came back it was with the proper equipment and staff to accomplish the mission in professional form–the team of me. I didn’t know much about the technical setup, I knew nothing about the equipment, and I had no idea where my own show would take me without the amenities I once had, but somebody walked me through the whole thing. Britto, you rock! And my name is Tonya D. Floyd. I don’t know how to lose. Not to say I haven’t taken L’s, but even in those, information is given, so the only option is to synthesize it and flip it. And let’s not forget about the plan, the mission, the purpose. If God didn’t want me to do my radio show, I would never have gotten the idea, tools, team, assistance, AND topics. Winning!

That said, I started Versatili-T Radio (www.spreaker.com/user/versatili-tcreations) and did my first solo broadcast this weekend, introducing the characters in my novels. I did live readings so the people would come alive to you and maybe you’d wanna get the books to find out more about their struggles. It felt good. It felt like an accomplishment. It was a challenge learning how to do it, but now that I have it, I can add this to my master resume–the one that details all the lessons I’ve learned and applied in life to make me the incredible woman I am. It may not get me into any federal position anywhere, but it sure keeps me encouraged.

I was an invited guest speaker on a team training call last week, where the leader gave me a fine introduction, and I was pleasantly surprised when she said, “Tonya does everything well.” High praise from someone I consider a mentor in many things. Wow. Losing is not an option. With the challenges of the day, week, pay period, month, or whatever, comes valuable education. I will collect it like tokens, use my successes to fuel me, and just barrel ahead. I play to win. Period. Come Tuesday morning, the circumstances will look completely different because I choose to conquer this Monday.
