Incredible!

Think about this, and remember you heard it here: The distance between good and incredible is about a 10-minute drive. It really is. As I was getting dressed this morning, I decided that feeling good wasn’t good enough today. I felt like I needed a little something extra–that I could do for myself–to take me over to incredible. What did I do? I grabbed my vanilla shower gel as usual, but then I reached for my banana smoothie sugar scrub, and I gave myself a new reason to feel sexy. Seriously, have you ever used a sugar scrub? Bomb! LOL, I have exfoliated many times, but there’s something sweet about sugar, and this one leaves me smelling delectible, feeling silky, and glistening. Slide on over to www.bubblesbylee.com and see what my cousin is brewing up over there. She makes all her soaps and scrubs by hand, with a little love, and safe for the sensitive. And they’re super cute! Yes, support small business–family business.
Anyway, that took me maybe two extra minutes. Then when I got dressed, as I normally would, I applied moisturizer to my face, which I washed in the shower already. Then I grabbed my favorite fragrance–Mary Kay Tribute. Strategically placed some spritzes, then went back to the bathroom for finishing touches. Still doing the daily stuff, so no extra time there. But then I decided what I was going to wear wasn’t good enough. I opted for some figure-flattering pants and a basic knit top. That took me maybe six extra minutes, because the colors had to be just right–how I feel, mixed with how I want to feel, and nothing too bold or detracting, but flattering enough to go with these extra-comfortable-even-though-they’re-dress-pants. It is key that when you’re having one of these days you choose clothes that feel good and look good at the same time. Incredible doesn’t have to be restrictive or bright; brown and tan are working for me today.
So here’s where my last two extra minutes went–on my feet. Today I had to hit the heels with a little extra and whip out the emery board to shape things up just right. Hey, I know it’s raining, and even though my toes weren’t out, incredible begins within. I have to FEEL incredible for it to show on the outside. Can’t do that without my emery board and extra love on the cuticles and heels. Lotion just would not do. I grabbed my accessories, brushed my hair down from the wrap, put on my shoes, and walked up on myself in the mirror. Then the final touch was the smile that said, “Bring it. Whatever it is, let’s have it.” Attitude is everything.
I immediately thought about you. Yes, I knew there would be a blog entry today that reminded you all to keep it real simple, preferably free, and all about you every now and then. I needed something, so I gave me something. If the only time I got spiced up and smelling good enough to eat was for some man, mercy; let us NOT even go there. Even on days when I could do that, I had to make sure I felt exceptional enough to share me with him. Remember, sexy is as sexy does. It starts with you. So whatever you have to do that you normally don’t, it shouldn’t take more than a few minutes, or it’s probably way out of your character. If that’s true, you need to call me for some brainstorming sessions on how to get you a baseline sexy and accessorize it. I know you know I know…. Oh, and notice nothing I said was gender-specific, so my male readers can absolutely indulge in some sugar and spice too. Ten minutes, tops.
Yeah, I know I have a bit of an advantage, because I can go to the closet and whip out a MK fragrance, lotion, or a Scentsy home fragrance to set a mood for myself, but you too can have a stash. Call me. I got you. And don’t forget the sugar scrubs!
